Have A Few Questions?
We get it. Sometimes you might have something on your mind that you’d like to know more about. Take a look at our FAQs below.
How Do The Quests Work?
Ok, so each quest starts off with a Quest Post. From there, you can access the Quest Clue Package specific to the quest (these are the products for sale). On the Quest Clue Package PDF downloads (the product you purchase), you’ll find an access code to the Quest Clue Page. Once the quest goes live (general on Saturday morning), you can navigate to and access the clues on the Quest Clue Page. From there, it’s all about interpreting clues and finding the Treasure Tube or URL for Virtual Time Sensitive Quests! You can read more on our How It Works page. Also, keep in mind that the Virtual Self Paced Quests offer an option for an adventure at your own time and pace.
When Is A Quest Offered Vs. When A Quest Goes Live
This one is a bit of a balancing act. A new quest will likely be offered somewhere between a few weeks and a month before it goes live. This provides people with an opportunity to sign up for the upcoming quest and to make sure they have some time set aside to hunt for the Treasure Tube or URL for virtual quests. This may change depending on how quickly quests sell out so be sure to join our mailing list to stay updated. Also remember that we offer Virtual, Self Paced Quests too in case you want to be an adventurer at your own pace.
Can One Person Buy All The QCPs?
Is The Treasure Tube Location Really Secret?
Most definitely! Only two people on the My Treasure Quest team know the location. One is the founder of the company and the other is a strategic partner that acts as a backup just in case. Nobody else has any idea where the Treasure Tubes are.
What Do I Do With The Treasure Tube?
Please feel free to keep the Treasure Tube and tracking Tile that comes with it. If you’d prefer, you can discard both. Or, if you’d like to get it back to My Treasure Quest, send us an email at [email protected] and we can arrange to get it back to us.
What's In The Treasure Tube Anyway?
At first, we thought about putting the booty in the tube. Then we had the thought that somebody might accidentally stumble across the tube. So, what you’ll find in the tube is a little something that tells you how to claim your treasure. More specifically, you’ll find a confirmation code that is linked to the specific quest you’re on. Additionally, you’ll find instructions on how to confirm and claim your booty! Oh, and there’s a small tracking device in the cap of the Treasure Tube as well.
Do You Really Send The Money?
Do I Have To Pay Taxes On My Winnings?
Well, that is ultimately for you and your accountant to determine. We are not qualified to provide that answer. What we can say is that should you win $600 or more, we will need to get a completed W-9 form from you. We’ll then issue you a 1099 form that you can take to your accountant.
How Does MTQ Make Money?
Good question. This is totally a function of how many Quest Clue Packages we sell vs. how much booty we give away. If we only sell 10 packages for one quest and the booty is $100, we lose money. Keep in mind that we have to cover administrative costs (like hosting this website) too. So, by all means, please share My Treasure Quest with your friends and family! The more the merrier!
